These pieces are imported from Afghanistan.  All are hand made from genuine coins.  

 

The term 'Middle East' is at most a conveniently flexible label for an area whose historical and cultural traditions are so rich and complex that they elude precise definition. Such qualities are strikingly illustrated in the profusion of styles and techniques found in jewellery .The Middle East encompasses the regions framing the eastern and southern Mediterranean -Turkey, Syria-Palestine, Egypt, North Africa, and their hinterlands of Iraq, Iran and the Arabian peninsula. Through historical circumstance the Middle East extends culturally into the south-east European territories of the former Ottoman Turkish Empire, the Caucasus, Afghanistan, Central Asia and India. Naturally, such a vast area presents a great variation of geography, race and language, unified only to a certain extent by common factors of history and religion.

This set is wonderful! Detail is very nice.

Length  of necklace is 18", the collar design is 12" and 2"wide without coins and bell trim.  Total length  from top of collar to bottom of fringe is 9 1/2" long.  In back of necklace it has black cloth for chain with button closer.  Earrings are 4" long, has wire for pierced ears.  Multi color glass stones.  Very showy set.

 

These pieces are pictured with the pendants attached to twist beads which can be worn for dance,  every day wear or added to bra & belts. Necklaces are not included.
